His time on the sailing ships was still very much alive in him and now he was trapped on land. The\u00a0boredom\u00a0was great.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">So,\u00a0what does a sailor without a ship do? He builds one.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Without drawings, proper tools and\u00a0appropriate materials, Runar created the impossible &#8211; a spectacular model of the sailing ship Ponape. A model so large that he had to ask for special permission from the British authorities to build it. The fear was that Runar would flee across the\u00a0sea\u00a0on his ship.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In total, he spent at least eight thousand hours on the model of the Ponape.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Looking at the model,\u00a0one is awestruck,\u00a0and the questions outnumber the answers. How is it possible to create something of this quality and detail in a prison camp with no access to tools?<\/span><span
